Four-time Formula One world champion Max Verstappen has confirmed a multi-year extension with Red Bull Racing, quashing rumors of a potential move elsewhere. The Dutch ace, who secured back-to-back titles in 2021 and 2022 and reclaimed the crown last season, will remain with the Milton Keynes-based team through the end of 2028.
Verstappen’s new deal, announced on the eve of the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, cements the partnership that has yielded an astonishing 51 victories since 2019. Team principal Christian Horner praised Verstappen’s “unwavering determination” and hailed the extension as a cornerstone for Red Bull’s future ambitions both on and off the track.
“Max has been a generational talent,” Horner stated. “His relentless pursuit of excellence matches our own vision for dominance in Formula One. We’re thrilled to continue this journey together, building on the momentum of recent seasons.”
Verstappen, 27, expressed his excitement at maintaining continuity with a team that has become synonymous with his meteoric rise. “Red Bull has given me the tools to succeed from day one,” he said. “I’m looking forward to pushing the boundaries of performance and sharing more unforgettable moments with our incredible fans, especially here in Zandvoort.”
With Verstappen’s contract secured, Red Bull can focus on consolidating technical partnerships and nurturing emerging talent.
